In your ceremony, the vows will be given in Hawaiian and English. If you prefer to write your own vows, it can be translated into Hawaiian provided you send that to me at least 2 days prior to your ceremony date. Following my familyʻs traditions passed down from generation to generation, every ceremony is designed exclusively for the couple involved. Your wedding is seen as a very special day that will be remembered for life..
Often, messages from our ancestors come through and will be given during the course of the ceremony. The wedding party, family and guests are included in the ceremonial experience. A beautiful keepsake of your Hawaiian wedding vows is given to you after the ceremony.
Awa is used for itʻs healing qualities. In keeping with the Hawaiian tradition, it is the closing part of the ceremony. One note about Awa is that this drink is not “champaign” in taste, but rather earthy and it does have a numbing effect on some people. The Awa will be provided and It is your choice to drink it or not. It is a small amount used to symbolize the blessings and completion of the ceremony.
